Abstract :

My corpus linguistic talk will cover the representation and framing of prenatal diagnosis, inclusion and exclusion in the political discoursein Germany concerning the Praenatest. The scientific aims of this presentations are

  • to examine the collocations of the lexical use, the view and the frames (cf. Croft & Cruse 2004, Busse 2012; concerning frames and discourse analysis cf. Ziem 2008a/b) on disability in the discourse on prenatal diagnosis of trisomy 21 with the praenatest and its reimbursement by the statutory health insurance in a parliamentary debate in 2019 (methods of corpus pragmatics cf. Felder/ Müller/Vogel 2011)
  • to analyse, whether there are differences regarding the frames on disability in connection with prenatal diagnosis between the politics, the press and social media(using twitter as an example) in this discourse.

I will show that the language of this discourse is more inclusive in social media than in politics and the press.
