Abstract :
Globalisation and migration, multilingualism and cultural heterogeneity are not exceptional phenomena in the education system, but are increasingly part of everyday life in Central European schools. The lecture presents theoretical models and empirical findings on intercultural teaching quality and teaching approaches to multilingualism in foreign language teaching. Against the backdrop of the findings, the question is raised, how models from applied linguistics and psychological models of intercultural learning can be intertwined to generate an integrated concept of intercultural learning and language senzitization in foreign language teaching. Conclusions for an interculturally sensitive and language sensitive school and teaching development will be discussed.
